so close and yet so far

Weight Chart

The scale moved down again. I'm still just a hair over my lowest weight since starting this blog, and tantalizingly close to being in the 150s. I know that I can get there, I just need to track, to stay under my points, and to get out and move. My old Weight Watchers journal was depressing because it had too many blank pages in it, so I got myself a cute spiral notebook instead. So far today I'm doing well, though yesterday I went over about 6 points from what I planned. I begin my weeks on Monday so that if Sunday is a rough day, I still have a chance for a fresh start.

We talked about maintaining today and it really helped me see the finish line, which is really not that far away -- just a little more than 5 pounds to go. This time around I am going to do maintenance completely by the book so I know how to do it right. Last time, I think my attitude was, "Hooray, I'm finished! Bring on the cake!"

  1. Congratulations! Yippee for you! I know you can do it and you already look fabulous. It's been a hard slog of a year for you but it's Spring! New beginnings!

  2. Maintenance is the key. I plan to do this for as long as I can.

  3. Easter was a tough holiday this year for me - sort of lasted three weeks too long.

Congratulations on the scale moving down and I just love a brand new spiral notebook - the possibilities!

  4. How exciting you are almost to goal! I understand that feeling of "bring on the cake" or at least, I can imagine myself doing the same thing. I'm skinny, I can eat whatever I want now! Um, no. That's NOT how it works, silly.

Good for you approaching maintenance the "right" way this time. At LA Weight Loss, they put you in maintenance for a YEAR, because if you keep your weight for a full year, you're more likely to keep it all off.

    Enjoy your success!

  5. Congrats!!!! You can do it! and you are so right about maintaining - it has be for a lifetime, but you can enjoy treats now and then too. You are an inspiration. Lady Rose (over 70 lost so far, 70ish more to go!)
