Weigh-in Wednesday: Five by Fitbloggin'

I wasn't sure what to expect this week -- I had a couple of bad days, but managed to get things in check by the end of the week. I stepped up my activity a lot.  After last week's fantastic weigh-in, it wasn't a big surprise to get a reality check, especially after a less-than-perfect week. I'm still (barely) under 180.

I do feel like I need a short-range goal, so I'm going to shoot for 5 pounds by Fitbloggin', which would put me just under 175.  It's a stretch goal, so it should help to keep me focused. I need to work on paying attention to my healthy checks each day -- I have been letting that slide.

What I did last week, plus daily step counts:

Wednesday: Run/walk workout, 12,502 steps
Thursday: Walked, 11,913 steps
Friday: Women's bike ride with Team Toledo, 16,365 steps
Saturday: Pilates Circuit class, 12,929 steps
Sunday: Day off, 6,070 steps
Monday: Swam for 30 minutes, 7,568 steps
Tuesday: Yoga, Women's bike ride with Team Toledo, 12,789 steps

Averaged more than 11,000 steps per day.

My sleep has not been great lately. I'm waking up with a backache. I tried turning the mattress but it didn't seem to make a difference.  I am going to try some stretches before bed. Any other ideas?  It just started happening as I have stepped up my activity, so I am guessing that I might just be adjusting.   I took today mostly off, except for a short walk after dinner.

One plug -- if you subscribe to Weight Watchers magazine, try the cast-iron skillet grill recipes this month. We have been loving them -- we made the Game Hens Under a Brick (with chicken, since I couldn't find game hens), the Cowboy Steak, and the Five Spice Skewers. All were great.  And since my husband does the grilling, it meant I didn't have to cook -- bonus!

  1. I sleep on my side with pillow under my top leg.

Child's pose before bed also helps.

    1. Not a body pillow, but a fat/firm regular pillow.
