a small gain, 4/17/2007

Weight Chart

I was not surprised to have a gain this week, especially considering my candy-coated frenzy after Easter. I am sure that if you carved out that 0.8 pound, it would look exactly like a peanut butter egg.

I've been struggling lately, no doubt about it. Not only because of the candy, but also because of some injury problems that make my usual strategy -- exercise a lot to make up for my snacking habit -- impractical. I'm still doing some yoga, some weight lifting, walking, and my Aquafit class, so I'm not totally inactive. But I really miss running and the ability to not only burn lots of calories, but calm my crazed mind. Now that the weather's nicer, I'll have to try taking out the bike and see how that works.

I guess that I need to shift from "Eat to Live" instead of "Live to Eat." I don't know why that has to be so hard for me.

  1. Really, 0.8 is not that bad considering everything. It is frustrating not to be able to do things the way you used to but you are branching out to other things and staying active. You're definitely not a lazybones, like moi!

If nothing else, pretty soon the candy will be gone. I had a moment last week when I drove past the candy aisle at Target with 75% off and I almost was persuaded. It's so purty too!

" I am sure that if you carved out that 0.8 pound, it would look exactly like a peanut butter egg."

    Funny.

  3. Luckily for me, Lori, the candy at the store doesn't tempt me, just the stuff I got in my basket. Weird but true. Thank God it's gone.

  4. i'm not sure what my 1-pound gain would be shaped like - maybe tuna noodle casserole... i can relate to missing running - after my foot surgery, i couldn't do any treadmill work for like 2 months... it sucked... but i have to say, biking is a great alternative! :o)

  5. "I am sure that if you carved out that 0.8 pound, it would look exactly like a peanut butter egg." I laughed so hard I almost snorted out my diet pepsi! Don't worry about the 0.8. With all the activity you do have, you will take it off in no time.

  6. It's hard for all of us. That's why we're here. You always have someone you can relate to, never forget that!
